Collection: Tones

Toners are a crucial step in the Korean skincare routine to ensure that the skin is well hydrated and prepared for the subsequent care products. They have the common purpose of providing the skin with moisture and nutrients, contributing to a healthy and strong skin barrier.

What is a toner?

A toner is an essential step in the Korean skincare routine, although many people think of it as part of cleansing. After cleansing the skin with an oil- and water-based cleanser, toner adds moisture and nourishment, helping to restore the skin's natural pH and preparing the skin for the next steps of care.

Why use a toner?
A toner helps maintain a healthy skin barrier by adding moisture and nutrients after cleansing. All skin types can benefit from a toner as it adds much-needed hydration. For dry skin, a thicker toner is more appropriate, while oily skin will benefit from a lighter formula.

How to apply toner?
Toners can be applied with a cotton pad or using the palms of your hands, gently patting the product into the skin. A mist is a convenient version of a toner that can be easily sprayed onto the skin, especially useful on the go for quick hydration.

Types of toners:

  • Impure skin : Toners with ingredients that balance oil levels and gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells.

  • Dry skin : Moisturizing toners with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and provitamin B5 for long-lasting hydration.

  • Irritated skin : Toners with anti-inflammatory ingredients like glycerin and centella that hydrate and soothe the skin.
